LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - The Lubbock Police Department responded to a crash on South Loop 289 near University Avenue on Thursday that stalled traffic for about an hour.

The two-vehicle crash caused police to block off parts of the Loop, which delayed traffic.

All eastbound traffic on the Loop must exit at Indiana Avenue as crews try to clear the scene, according to the City of Lubbock.

The Lubbock Police Department dispatch desk reported the crash was somewhere around one of the Loop’s access road near University. There was only one minor injury reported from the scene.

Traffic does appear to be backed up on the Loop as far down as Slide Road as of 8:03 a.m. The scene was cleared around 8:40 a.m.

KCBD NewsChannel 11 will update this story when more information becomes available.
