Tech men win Big 12 opener

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - After outscoring the Wildcats 34-19 in the first half, Kansas State stormed back in the second half to make it a game.

Kansas State cut the Red Raider lead down to three in the second half, but in the end Texas Tech beat the Wildcats 63-57.

Texas Tech lost the rebound battle by one and turned the ball over 19 times.

Davide Moretti came to play in the Big 12 home opener for the Red Raiders as he finished with a team high 19 points, but fouled out at the end of the game.

Matt Mooney had 14 points and four rebounds, while Jarrett Culver and Kyler Edwards finished the game with nine points, respectively.

Tariq Owens finished with nine points, eight rebounds and three blocks.

Up next, the Red Raiders will host Oklahoma on Tuesday night at 8 p.m. at United Supermarkets Arena.
