LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - The No. 8 Red Raiders came up with a big 66-59 win over No. 22 Oklahoma at the United Supermarkets Arena Wednesday night. Texas Tech trailed at the half, but Jarrett Culver took over late in the second half scoring eight of his game high 23 points.
The Sooners scored 35 in the first half, but the Red Raider defense held them to 24 in the 2nd half.
Davide Moretti scored 10 for the Red Raiders, who take over sole possession of first place in the Big 12 with a 3-0 Conference record. Tech is 14-1 overall.
Brandone Francis added 8 for Texas Tech.
The Red Raiders now go on the road to visit Texas in Austin Saturday at 1 p.m. The last time Texas Tech beat the Longhorns in Austin in basketball was 1996, the last year of the Southwest Conference.
