Seminole man found guilty of drug and firearms offenses could face life in prison

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - 45-year-old Robert Bazan, of Seminole has been found guilty by a federal jury of multiple methamphetamine and firearms charges.

Bazan was arrested after trying to sell an AR style pistol and one ounce of methamphetamine to a confidential informant.

Months later, Bazan became engaged in a pursuit with deputies from Gaines County, Texas and Lea County, New Mexico, that reached speeds of up to 95 miles an hour following a traffic stop.

During the chase, Bazan tried to get rid of two handguns and 413 grams of methamphetamine. Following his indictment, Bazan also attempted to intimidate a cooperating witness.

With this indictment, and his six-time felony criminal history, Bazan could face life in prison. This investigation was conducted by ATF and DEA working with Gaines and Lea County Sheriff’s offices.
