LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Saturday afternoon, the Texas Tech Track & Field program opened their indoor season with the second-annual Corky Classic.
Coach Wes Kittley opened up the post-meet press conference speaking about Corky and what the meet means to the program.
“It’s such a fun meet for us,” Kittley said. "Nearly all of our kids knew Corky, so to remember him on this day and make today special for his family – and our team, because he was our biggest fan – it was just a great day.”
Texas Tech racked up several wins and multiple personal records during the meet.
There will be meets at the Texas Tech Sports Performance Center for the next six weeks.
There will be another one-day meet next week when they host the Red Raider Open.
