Former Red Raider DC David Gibbs joins Missouri staff

David Gibbs joins Missouri

COLUMBIA, MO (KCBD) -After four seasons as the Defensive Coordinator at Texas Tech, David Gibbs has been hired as an assistant coach by Missouri. He will be on the Tigers Defensive staff.

Gibbs defense at Texas Tech in 2017 had 29 forced turnovers, ranking them 6th in the country. In 2015, the Red Raiders had 15 interceptions and recovered 10 fumbles.

Gibbs has over 25 years of coaching experience and in a Missouri news release he said he was excited to join the Tigers.

“"I’m very grateful and excited to be part of Coach Odom’s program, this is an outstanding opportunity for me and my family," said Gibbs. "I’ve known about Mizzou and Columbia for a long time, and I’ve got a ton of respect for Coach Odom and the type of program he runs. I’m looking forward to getting going there and helping Mizzou continue to build upward.”
