New info released following Saturday evening police chase

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Lubbock police have released the name of the man taken into custody after a brief chase on Saturday, January 19.

Nathan Garcia was arrested on charges of evading arrest in a vehicle, retaliation and evading arrest on foot.

Officers were called to Racer Classic Car Wash in the 2800 block of 50th Street around 6 p.m. after a domestic dispute was reported.

Witnesses say Garcia began making threatening remarks to employees, until police were called and he left the scene.

After speaking to witnesses, officers were able to locate the suspect in his vehicle and attempted to make a traffic stop in the 3400 block of 50th Street.

The chase began when Garcia fled the attempted stop, leading police on a brief pursuit.

Officers were able to take the suspect in custody when he ditched the vehicle near 26th and Canton.
