Second skier dies after avalanche in New Mexico

TAOS, NM (KFDA) - The second skier who was buried by an inbounds avalanche at Taos Ski Valley last week has died.

According to The Aspen Times, Corey Borg of Minnesota has been identified as the second skier who died as a result of injuries sustained in the avalanche at Kachina Peak in Taos, New Mexico.

Taos Ski Valley had earlier confirmed that two skiers were found buried in snow after the avalanche. Both received medical attention at the resort before being taken to a hospital.

It’s still unclear what triggered the avalanche, but the resort said a full investigation will be conducted.

Borg’s family has set up a GoFundMe page to help with financial burdens.
