Tech drops to No. 16 in AP Top 25 Poll

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Texas Tech men’s basketball has taken another hit in the Associated Press' Top 25 this week, dropping down to No. 16 after a one-loss, one-win week. Last week AP had the Red Raiders in the No. 14 spot.

Chris Beard’s Red Raiders took a hit on Tuesday after a 58-45 loss to Kansas State in Kansas, this after losing two consecutive games to Iowa State and Baylor. However, a close win on Saturday against Arkansas during the SEC/Big 12 Challenge brought the team’s record up to 16-4 overall.

So far the team’s conference record is 4-3 as it prepares to take on TCU at 8 p.m. Monday. The game against the Horned Frogs will be broadcast on ESPN.

Later this week Tech will take on Kansas at 3 p.m. in Lawrence, Kansas. Kansas is the only other Big 12 team that is ranked higher than Tech at No. 11. The only other conference team listed by AP it Iowa State at No. 20.
