LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - At the NFL Honors show Saturday night in Atlanta, there wasn’t much drama when they revealed the Most Valuable Player Award.
Former Red Raider Patrick Mahomes was named NFL MVP and Offensive Player of the Year on Saturday.
Mahomes main competition was New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees, but according to the Vegas odds makers – Mahomes was the clear favorite.
Over his sophomore season, the former Red Raider finished with 5,097 passing yards, 50 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.
He completed 66 percent of his passes and had a QB rating of 113.8, which is the eighth highest in a single season.
