Troopers identify Lubbock victims in crash near O’Donnell
Crews worked a double fatal vehicle accident, involving a single vehicle in the 2600 BLK of Rifle Range Road near Hamlin Road.

DAWSON COUNTY, TX (KCBD) - Troopers with the Texas Department of Public Safety have released the identities of those involved in a deadly crash that happened three miles south of O’Donnell on U.S. Hwy. 87 on February 1.

The crash happened around 4:30 p.m.

Troopers say Joe R. Guerra, 23, of Lubbock was driving the vehicle when it rolled. He was taken to the hospital in Lamesa. Alonzo A. Garcia, 23 was a passenger and was taken to University Medical Center in Lubbock. Another passenger, 33-year-old Angel A. Duran was taken to the hospital in Lamesa. All three were reported to have non life-threatening injuries.

Another passenger, 41-year-old Ernesto L. Piedra died on the scene. He was the only person in the vehicle reported to not be wearing a seatbelt when the crash happened.
