Lady Raiders finish strong in Play4Kay game

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - The Lady Raider basketball team showed up and beat the Oklahoma State Cowgirls by a final of 90-78 in their annual Play4Kay game.

For the first time in eight games, the Lady Raiders took it to the finish line and won a Big 12 contest.

The battle on the glass was huge for Texas Tech, as they outrebounded the Cowgirls by 14.

Outrebounding Oklahoma State led to more shot opportunities for the Lady Raiders.

Erin DeGrate was stellar for Coach Stollings, where she had 21 points and seven rebounds.

Degrate wasn’t the only Lady Raider to have an impressive game.

Angel Hayden had a career day with 19 points, Sydney Goodson had 17, Chrislyn Carr had 14, and Brittany Brewer had 11.

With the win, the Lady Raiders improve to 11-12 on the season, 2-10 in Big 12 Conference play.

Up next for coach Stollings team, they will host West Virginia on Wednesday. Tip-off for that game is at 6 p.m.

The game will be televised on Fox Sports Southwest Plus.
