LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Coach Kittley and the Red Raider Indoor Track & Field team remained in the top spot of the most recent U.S. Track & Field and Cross-Country Coaches Association rankings.
The USTFCCCA announced their rankings on Monday, and they say the Red Raiders stay atop the mountain thanks to some solid performances that ranked in the top-five nationally.
Those performances include Andrew Hudson’s 200-meter time of 20.48 that happens to lead the nation.
Hudson and Divine Oduduru are the 1-2 punch in the sprints for the Red Raiders.
(Oduduru has the No. 3 time in the nation for the 200-meter run.)
Another strength for the Red Raiders is Odaine Lewis.
Lewis holds it down in the horizontal jumps at No. 4 in the long jump and No. 5 in the triple jump.
On the other side, the women’s team made a big leap in this week’s rankings.
Last week, they were ranked No. 20 but jumped nine-spots to claim No. 11.
With this ranking, they are the top-ranked indoor women’s squad in the Big 12 Conference.
