LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Texas Tech has jumped up three spots to No. 15 this week in the Associated Press’ Top 25 college basketball rankings. Now the university sits behind Kansas, which is ranked at No. 14.

A two-win week has given Tech the boost it needed to move back up in the poll since its decline in Week 11, four week ago. This is the first time the Tech men’s basketball team has moved up in the poll since its highest ranking at No. 8.

It seems to also be a good week for the Big 12, as there are four teams from the conference included in the poll, a jump from only Tech and Kansas last week. Now, Kansas State sits at No. 18 and Iowa State makes the cut at No. 23.

This week has been good for Tech after two consecutive wins against West Virginia on Feb. 4 and another against Oklahoma on Saturday. The team improves to 7-4 in conference play and 19-5 overall.

The next game will be against Oklahoma State at 8 p.m. Wednesday in Stillwater, Oklahoma. After that the team goes up against Baylor in the United Supermarkets Arena at 1 p.m Saturday.
