Josh Jung to pour out dirt from CWS on Opening Day

Texas Tech baseball preparing for opening day

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Moments after Texas Tech fell to Florida and was eliminated from the College World Series.

Red Raider third baseman Josh Jung was filling up a water battle with dirt.

“I got some dirt so that I can take it back to Tech and put it on the field,” Josh Jung said back in June. “Just to let the guys know that this is what we are working for.”

Let’s fast forward almost eight months.

After a long off season, the Red Raiders are gearing up for opening day and so the question had to be asked – what has Jung done with the water bottle full of dirt?

“I will sprinkle it on the mound tomorrow after the National anthem,” Jung said. “I got it and I can’t wait to put it out there. I have been waiting. It has been in my room the entire time, but it will be sprinkled out there tomorrow. Just so that these guys know – this is our goal and that is what we worked for.”
