Lady Raiders fall to West Virginia

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Looking for back to back wins, the Lady Raiders donned their pink uniforms again, but in the end they let one slip away, falling 75-72 to West Virginia at the United Supermarkets Arena Wednesday night.

The Lady Raiders opened up an 8 point lead in the 4th quarter on a three-pointer from Sydney Goodson.

However late in the game, the Lady Raiders couldn’t make their free throws. Brittany Brewer missed two with 57 seconds left and then Chrislyn Carr went 0-2 with 17 seconds left.

Naomi Davenport made a jumper with 11 seconds left to give West Virginia a one point lead that they would keep.

Sydney Goodson and Chrislyn Carr both scored 15 points. Brittany Brewer and Angel Hayden added 12 each.

The Lady Raiders fall to 11-13 overall and 2-11 in the Big 12. Tech will visit Kansas Sunday at 2pm.
