On the South Plains more than 5,000 people have signed the B.U.S.T pledge to buckle up and stop texting. Each time a teen hits the road their parents aren't always there to track their every move or mistake, especially if they text and drive. There is one high tech device that is helping to do just that.
B.U.S.T. - Buckle Up & Stop Texting. That's the message that NewsChannel 11 and Sports Director Pete Christy are challenging high school students with all over the South Plains.
Pete made a big decision in September 2004, leaving the top 5 market of Philadelphia to return to Lubbock and start a family. Pete returned to Lubbock after spending 7 years in the big city of Philadelphia.
