Beat cancer t-shirts for the Tech vs. Rice game on Sept. 12

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Remember Cameron Weddle?  He's been focused on the Children's Miracle Network for his fight against Leukemia and for the bond he made with the Red Raider football team last year.

Now, the Weddle family is joining a national effort that pulls football fans into the fight against childhood cancer.  At different universities, fans are encouraged to wear "beat cancer t-shirts" in their school colors for whatever game is scheduled on September 12th, which is National Childhood Cancer Awareness Day.  For those in Lubbock, it's also the day that Texas Tech plays Rice.

"We're hoping that people will come out and buy the t-shirt and you'll be able to support the Red Raiders in your red and black and support childhood cancer...all the profits are going to go to cure," said Misty Weddell, mother of Cameron Weddell.

Curesearch was founded by the parents of kids with cancer, who raise money to find answers to pediatric cancers.  If you'd like to buy a beat cancer t-shirt for the Tech game against Rice, you need to order that online by next Tuesday, the 25th.  You can order your t-shirt at
