LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - It was a day many on the South Plains have been looking forward to, the 40th annual Sausage Festival.
It was held Sunday at the Saint Joseph's church on Division Street in Slaton. The event raises money for the church and catholic school and is not limited to just sausage. Organizers prepared over 7,000 pounds of sausage along with mesquite grilled chicken for this year's festival.
The fundraiser also featured a live and silent auction. And event planners say last year they served almost 2,000 plates.
