Now that Ashlee Simpson-Wentz has been fired from CW's reboot of Melrose Place, Jessica Simpson has come to her sister's defense, saying the writing staff is to blame.

On Sunday night, the elder Simpson sister tweeted: "CW catching up on MP.who writes this crap?i have had bad scripts to work with,but this?thank God my sister is amazing and got you some press. Watch til Jan... :)"
