2009 Holiday Happening schedule of events

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - It's time to celebrate 20 years of Giving at the 2009 Holiday Happening at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center.

Attending this weekend's annual Holiday Happening will help to feed some of Lubbock's hungry children. It's part of the Junior League of Lubbock's philanthropy effort. All proceeds from the purchase of a Holiday Happening ticket will go toward the Food to Kids program. It is a program, which provides weekend food bags to children in need.

Holiday Happening runs all weekend long. Multi-day passes are $15 and day passes are $7. You can purchase tickets by calling (806) 445-9637 or at the Holiday Happening west ticket booth located at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center, 1501 Mac Davis Lane. Purchased tickets will not be mailed. All purchased tickets may be picked up during the ticket booth hours.

Star Tree gift certificates provided by Holiday Happening merchants will be available for purchase the week of Holiday Happening.

• Friday, November 20th: 10 a.m.-7 p.m.
• Saturday, November 21st: 10 a.m.-7 p.m.
• Sunday, November 22nd: 12 p.m.-5 p.m.

Wednesday, November 18 Celebrate!...Christmas in the City Sneak Peek SOLD OUT

Celebrate!…Christmas in the City our Sneak Peek for this year's Holiday Happening on Wednesday, November 18th. This event begins at 5 p.m. with preferred shopping for Junior League Sustainers. This Sustainer Shopping Hour is our way of thanking the Sustainers for their ongoing, valuable contributions to the Junior League of Lubbock. At 6 p.m. the doors open to welcome everyone for a cash bar, hors d'oeuvres presented by At Your Service, our new Celebrate!...Surprises Mystery box raffle, and stroller-free shopping until 9 p.m.

Two shopping areas will be available with even more new merchants! Sneak Peek tickets are $25 per person, so come and Celebrate!…Christmas in the City!

The Celebrate!...Surprises Mystery Box raffle will be a fun addition for this year's Sneak Peek event. Buy your Mystery Box ticket for a chance to win 1 of 25 fabulous prizes. Prizes will include exciting gifts donated by Robert Lance Jewelers. Each box will come with a prize value of AT LEAST $100.00. Twenty-five winners will be drawn at random. Check out the Mystery box display at Sneak Peek for a look at some of the thrilling prizes. Winners will be drawn at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 18th, 2009. Need not be present to win.

Celebrate!...All That Glitters Ladies' Day 2009 ALL SEATINGS SOLD OUT

Ladies have a choice of brunch or lunch this year for Ladies' Day. Celebrate!…All That Glitters will be Thursday, November 19th and begin with a Champagne Brunch provided by Stella's at 10 a.m. After brunch will be the highly anticipated style show featuring Malouf's at 11 a.m. For those who prefer a Ladies Lunch, that begins at noon and is also provided by Stella's. There is limited seating for both events, so get your tickets early. Tickets for the style show and either brunch or lunch are $40 each. Reserved tables available only for tables of 8.

Doors open at 7:30 p.m. with a cash bar and heavy hors d'oeuvres catered by Melt Restaurant and Lounge. Silent auctions and entertainment provided by Funk Puppets, dancing and fun.

Parking for the event is available at the far East section of the parking lot.

Sponsored by Double T Smiles, kids will enjoy the music of Lubbock's very own Itty Bitty's and breakfast by Chick-fil-A and McDonalds. Don't forget to stop downstairs for a picture with Santa.
