ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - The New Mexico Rail Runner between Belen and Santa Fe will run Friday after all, but on a limited schedule.
The Mid-Region Council of Governments had initially said the commuter train was canceled due to the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.
But Rail Runner officials changed their minds Wednesday. They say they want to help people on Black Friday, the busiest shopping day of the holiday season.
Mid-Region Council of Governments executive director Lawrence Rael says the special schedule will accommodate people who wish to avoid traffic and parking hassles.
Two northbound trains start at 8:50 a.m. and 3:58 p.m. from Belen.
Two southbound trains leave the Santa Fe Depot at 11:25 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.
