Texas Tech gets "Trumped" by letter of support for Leach

By James Clark | email

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) – Business mogul and star of The Apprentice, Donald Trump, wrote a letter of support for Mike Leach on Monday.  Leach was fired in late December amid allegations that he mistreated player Adam James, which Leach denies.  Trump has been a fan of Leach since 2005, according to media reports.  The letter became public on Tuesday and is displayed the Facebook page for a group called Team Leach.

The text of the Trump letter is copied below.

I would like to state that Coach Mike Leach has had an exemplary career as a coach and his reputation among his colleagues and friends stands in his favor.

I've known Mike Leach for several years and he has always displayed tremendous enthusiasm and loyalty toward his team.  I know he was dedicated to Texas Tech and to the Red Raiders, and I would hope to see them support him to the extent he supported them.

Sincerely,

Donald J. Trump
