Since I was little it has been my dream to be an on-air meteorologist. I experienced the disaster of Hurricane Andrew back in 1992, and realized how important a meteorologist can be. I want to be a help to a city by educating the public on safety and updating conditions of a storm. So, I have ended up in Lubbock to inform viewers of severe weather outbreaks, and hopefully some nice sunny days.
I have always wanted to live in Texas; maybe it’s the cowboy hats that intrigue me. I grew up mostly in Atlanta, GA and Miami, FL and I am a graduate from the University of Miami. I managed to major in Meteorology and minor in Math and Physics while still finding time to have fun in the sun. I was the coordinator of Sisterhood Social Events for my sorority, Delta Phi Epsilon, as well as a team leader for raising money to help the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
Before working for KCBD, I worked as the on-air meteorologist for KSPR in Springfield, MO and for the University of Miami’s TV sports show. I also did extensive research on sea/land breezes in the Tampa, FL area. However, I have learned the most from my internships at WPBF in West Palm Beach, FL and at The Weather Channel.
In my spare time I enjoy traveling, preferably to warm climates. However, I also love to go to the ski slopes, mostly to drink the hot chocolate from inside the lodge. My number one hobby is going out and having fun, if it doesn't interfere with watching my college football!
