Husband Speaks Out About Missing Wife

Lubbock PD Lubbock PD

Peggy Merimon's family offered a $25,000 reward last Friday. Tuesday, that number doubled. For the first time, Louetta Kay Harrelson's husband of 27 years said he too is offering another $25,000 to see his wife come home safely.

Danny says he spoke with his wife many times, the last time was just hours before she went missing. "Kay is a mother and a wife who's life centers around her family. We've been married 27 years and have a son named Chris," said Danny.

Finding the words to describe his wife of 27 years was easy, getting those words out, that's another story.  "Chris and I are in uncharted waters and we feel lost and helpless. We continue to do everything the police asks us to do, and we do everything we know to do. Our family is of limited means, but we do want to offer a $25,000 reward for the safe return of Kay, and the conviction of the person or persons involved in her disappearance," said Danny.

The last time Danny Harrelson saw his wife was when she left for work at the Lubbock State School last Wednesday. Six days later, he called a news conference begging for the safe return of his wife.  "She does take high blood pressure medicine and she needs it daily," he said.

The details of the disappearance are sketchy, and the only answers, raise too many questions."I have stared at the sketch for days on end and tried to recognize him, but I can't at all," said Danny.

Danny has no idea who his wife drove off with, he has no idea why she would get in the car, and he doesn't understand why she went out for lunch in the first place. The only thing he does know, his wife and her co-worker are in danger, and he will do anything to get his Kay back home. "I need to re-emphasize the emphasis needs to be on Kay, not on our family. That's all," concluded Danny.

Authorities tell us they don't remember a case quite like this one where two adults went missing at the same time. Since they can't find any evidence of a crime, it's being investigated as a missing person's case. They are however looking for someone who matches the sketch (pictured right).

Witnesses say Harrelson and Merimon got into his car last Wednesday and that's the last time they were seen. He is a middle aged white man with a gray beard. He was driving a rusty gray or silver four door sedan.

If you have any information, you are asked to call Crime Line at (806) 741-1000.
