Leach's Take on Moving Tech/A&M Game to Dallas

When's it going to happen or better yet, how does coach Mike Leach feel about moving the game to Dallas? He didn't say he's for it or against it, but he did mention of the enthusiasm you get at Jones Stadium or Kyle Field that you may not get if the game is moved to Dallas.

Playing Texas A&M at Kyle Field is "quickly gaining the reputation as one of the nation's most intimidating road venues."  Its capacity is 83 thousand.  That is 38 percent more than Jones AT&T Stadium and 13 percent more than the AT&T Cotton Bowl.

"It's pretty captivating to look at as the stands sway," said Coach Mike Leach.

He confesses he would miss playing at Kyle Field.  "...the thing that is incredibly captivating about Kyle Field is the noise level and the other thing is how vertical that place (the stands) is," he said.

"This is one of the most exiting places to play ever," said Coach Leach after Saturday's game.

We asked Leach how much of an influence does he have on the decision to move the game.  "Same as I've always had 'zero' Yep, that hasn't changed."

Tech officials told me "it is fair to say if the game is moved to Dallas in the near future,  it probably would not happen next year."  So, next season's game against the Aggies should be here in Lubbock.
