Scholarship For The Families of Fallen Soldiers

The Fallen Heroes Fund is now accepting applicants. It's a scholarship fund designed to help those who have suffered the loss of loved ones, killed in the line of duty.  

Kathy Stocco, Executive Director of the Lubbock Area Foundation said, "The Fallen Heroes Fund is a scholarship fund we've started at the foundation for the dependent survivors of our service men and women and first responders who have been killed in the line of duty serving our country since September 11, 2001."

The Lubbock Area Foundation created this fund for those in need in this area.

"The scholarships are going to be set aside for families who have had some connection with the Lubbock area. Whether you live in Lubbock or not, those who have lost so much can benefit soon," Stocco said. 

The scholarships will be available in the Spring of 2007. They are for all post secondary students. The spouses, children or any dependents of fallen heroes from Lubbock are eligible for the scholarships.
