The Tulia tornado's damage path was approximately fifteen block large area through the city. Initial reports state that over 20 business received major damage. Residential areas and a trailer park received minor damage.
Lubbock Emergency Command is currently set up and assessing the scene. Persons in Tulia are asked to consume bottled water, however there has not been a report at this time of contamination.
The elderly in need of oxygen are asked to go to the nearest hospital.

A tornado twisted its way through Tulia around 7:55 Saturday evening causing extensive damage throughout the town.
Tulia authorities tell NewsChannel 11 people were injured in the storm but there is still not an exact count.
The tornado took out half a trailer park, a number of homes and several businesses in east Tulia.
Emergency crews were scanning the area with flashlights and planned to continue to search for people in the debris throughout the night. Crews were working to restore power to Tulia after the tornado downed a number of power lines.
The tornado also caused a gas leak in downtown Tulia. Crews were able to shut off the leak but were still working on repairs late Saturday evening.
Highway 87 was blocked off into Tulia after the tornado hit and remained so until late Saturday evening.
Earlier in the evening, a tornado tore its way through Olton, destroying three homes and a barn as well as injuring one person.
The tornado hit around 7:00 p.m. and downed power lines resulting in power outages throughout the area. Crews were working to restore power Saturday evening.
