Graham Harrell threw for 484 yards and four touchdowns as Texas Tech came from behind to beat UTEP 45-31.
It was the Red Raiders' home opener. But it wasn't as big a comeback as Tech's history-making Insight Bowl rally in December.
On Tech's first two possessions after the break, Harrell threw touchdown passes to Michael Crabtree and Danny Amendola to put the Red Raiders ahead.
UTEP tied it on a 25-yard field goal at the end of the third quarter. Tech (2-0) answered quickly - in 89 seconds - with a nine-play, 80-yard scoring drive. Harrell found Grant Walker wide open in the corner of the end zone to give the Red Raiders a 38-31 lead.
Up next for Texas Tech is the Rice Owls in Houston. That game will be televised at 2pm on Saturday, September 15th on FSN.
