    This week KCBD has chosen 1st Lieutenant Ross Creel as a "Hometown Hero". He is a 2004 Coronado High School graduate who enlisted in the U.S. Army after he graduated from college in 2008.

    This week KCBD would like to honor Michael Tackitt as a "Hometown Hero". After graduating from Lubbock High School, Michael joined the U.S. Army.

    This week KCBD would like to honor Sergeant Monica DeLeon as our "Hometown Hero". A 1994 Lubbock High School graduate, Monica enlisted in the United States Army in 2004 as a single mother of two.

    This week KCBD would like to honor U.S. Marine Corporal Jeffrey Howell as our "Hometown Hero". Jeffrey is a 2006 Monterey High School graduate who just recently returned to Lubbock after his enlistment ended in September.

    This week's "Hometown Hero" is U.S. Marine Lance Corporal Jeremy Miller. With no question in his mind, Jeremy was destined to be a Marine and enlisted in 2007 after graduating from Frenship High School in 2006.

    He is a 2003 Plainview High School graduate, a husband, a father, a brother and a hometown hero after serving overseas in the United States Marine Corp. Marine Corporal Carlos Plata Jr. joined in 2004 at age 19.
