    A 42-minute police pursuit ended at 55th Street and 71 Highway in Kansas City.  Police apprehended a carjacking suspect just before 8:30 p.m.  The pursuit began at 18th Street and Brooklyn Avenue at around 7:45 p.m.  During the pursuit, a wreck happened at 55th and Prospect Avenue.     An active rain system will rolling over the Heartland this week has caused the Cape Girardeau Public Works department to jump into action. To help reduce the potential for flooding, crews with the storm water division are clearing debris from creek crossings and flat grates that are plugged up.

    The family of Syed Jamal briefly visited him on Sunday afternoon.  Jamal, 55, has been fighting efforts by the United States to deport him back to Bangladesh.  He returned to Missouri on Wednesday and has been held in the Platte County Jail since Wednesday.  According to attorney Rekha Sharma-Crawford on Facebook, the family could only speak to him through the glass because they didn't arrive 30 minutes before the visit.  Statement from the attorney on Facebook...
