
HALE COUNTY, TEXAS (KCBD) - Rural health care, water, and economic development, they're issues State Representative Joe Heflin plans to address Thursday and Friday during town hall meetings in Hale County. Heflin has already held more than 20-meetings this summer, speaking to folks in Floyd, Garza, Terry and other counties in his district.
He says rural health care has been one of the biggest concerns. Heflin says law makers have listened, and passed a bill that should help address the problem. "The last session we passed a bill that raised a tax on tobacco products; that money is dedicated to help encourage doctors to come to rural areas to help pay off their student loans, if they'll serve so many years in a rural area, and I think that's going to be
