In June of 2009, Lubbock Police Detectives were asked to give the case (LPD case# 06-40949) involving Louetta Kay Harrelson and Peggy Merimon to the Lubbock County District Attorney's office for review. The District Attorney's office reviewed the case and later presented it to a Lubbock County Grand Jury who handed down two sealed indictments against Mickey Weldon Patterson for the murders of Louetta Kay Harrelson and Peggy Merimon.
On September 23, 2009 at around noon, State and Local Police in Bend, Oregon located and arrested Patterson.
The Arrest Warrants for Patterson carry a 5 million dollar bond each.
Any questions regarding extradition should be forwarded to the Lubbock County District Attorney's Office.
