LAMB COUNTY, TX (KCBD) - The death toll increased from two persons to three after an accident in Lamb County Monday afternoon.
The accident happened around 3:45 just north of Littlefield and south of Springlake on County Road 202 and Highway 385. DPS tells us that a grain truck was headed south on Highway 385, just north of Littlefield when its front left tire blew out
That caused it to veer into oncoming traffic, where it hit an SUV head on. Both vehicles then caught fire, severely burning the driver of the grain truck.
"He was burned pretty bad, I seen him, he was just blazing, big blaze of fire, running across the field, across the road, they finally got him put out," said witness Brad Williams.
The driver was transported to University Medical Center here in Lubbock, where he later died. He is identified by DPS as Raymond Ramirez Jr., 33, of Olton. The two people riding in the SUV were killed. Their identities were not ascertained by DPS on Monday.
