KCBD, NewsChannel 11 Lubbock |Comic book fans celebrate Lubbock's first Comic Con

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -Dozens of people along with a few comic book characters went to the Science Spectrum Saturday for the first ever West Texas Comic Con. The event included appearances from the Star Wars cast and several local and regional comic book creators for the largest comic convention Lubbock's ever seen.
"It's actually a pretty good turnout. I'm really shocked and surprised that there's this many people here. This is actually as good as some of the Dallas ones that I've seen so far," said attendee David Jarrett.
The event included a writer's workshop, costume contest and panel discussions.
