KCBD, NewsChannel 11 Lubbock |Wilcox appeals, claims violation of his rights

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Documents filed this week say a federal judge violated Kenneth Wilcox's constitutional rights.
Wilcox was convicted on federal kidnapping charges stemming from an incident in late 2008. He claims he had permission to take three children on a road trip, but authorities say he over-reached his permission when he went out of state instead of taking them to Six Flags in Arlington as he had promised.
Wilcox's appeal says the judge should have allowed Wilcox to be tried outside of Lubbock on a change of venue.
