Santa Land Opens In Lubbock

Santa Land in Mackenzie Park is now open.

The winter wonderland has been a Lubbock tradition for 51 years. More than 32,000 people visit Santa Land each year to see the festive holiday village. There is a Christmas tree, animated displays, bonfires, traditional holiday scenes, and Santa and Ms. Claus.

Santa Land is open nightly from 6 p.m. untill 10 p.m. now through December 23, 2007. Parents are encouraged to bring their children early in the evening for visits with Santa as the line is stopped at 9 p.m.

Hot chocolate and other refreshments are for sale at the concession stand. Parents are welcome to bring cameras and video cameras to take photos with Santa. Keepsake photos are also available for $5.

To get to Santa Land use the East Broadway entrance into Mackenzie Park just east of Avenue A and the South Plains Fairgrounds.
