LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Both victims of Friday's stabbing in Lubbock are doing better Sunday while the suspect remains behind bars in Brownfield.
Brownfield police arrested 39-year-old Robert Mata Friday night. Mata is being held on a half-million dollar bond charged with burglary of a habitation with intent to commit aggravated assault.
Police say he stabbed his ex-girlfriend 46-year-old Susan Perez and her friend 33-year-old Jacob Mojica multiple times early Friday morning at a home near 42nd and Chicago.
Both victims had critical injuries, but have since been upgraded.
Perez tells us that she sends her deepest regards to Jacob and the Mojica family, and that she is hurting for what happened to Jacob.
