LEDA leader announces retirement - KCBD NewsChannel 11 Lubbock

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - NewsChannel 11 has learned that Gary Lawrence, CEO of the Lubbock Economic Development Alliance, intends to announce his retirement.

LEDA creates and manages programs and activities, for the purpose of promoting and enhancing the business environment in and around Lubbock.

Lawrence, a longtime Lubbock banker, has served as CEO of LEDA since its inception. In 2003, he was named CEO of LEDA's predecessor, Market Lubbock Inc., and was instrumental in its establishment in 1995.

Lawrence says he looks forward to spending more time with his grandchildren after his retirement. However, he will stay on for six months, until his replacement is found. He will also stay on as a consultant until April 2010.
