Things are Looking up for Area Farmers

Lubbock temperatures hit the freezing mark for the first time Wednesday morning. And while it helped area cotton crops a little, South Plains farmers say it is not good enough.

According to cotton experts, the temperatures need to freeze for a couple of hours in order to kill the leaves on the plant. The good news is the recent sunshine will help dry the crop. Plus, Wednesday morning's frost will help pull some of the moisture out of the ground.
