Wanted burglary suspect surrenders to Lubbock Police

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Lubbock Police say the burglary suspect who tried to run down a police officer with his car, has turned himself into authorities.

Adam Vidales, 19, is charged with aggravated assault on a public servant. Police say he arrived at the Lubbock Police Department around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, accompanied by his parents. He is now being questioned in connection with this case.

Police say Vidales stepped on the gas after being confronted outside of a home in the 1900 block of 63rd Street last Friday. The officer fired several shots.

Officers located a man with gunshot wounds to his torso at the Applegate Shady Acres mobile home park about thirty minutes later. Police say the man was identified as Moses Navarrette, 17. They believe he is the alleged passenger in Vidales' car. He remains in critical condition at University Medical Center.
