Salmonella cases near 700 - KCBD NewsChannel 11 Lubbock

LUBBOCK, TX. (KCBD) - The number of salmonella cases linked to the Peanut Corporation of America climbs to 691, but the outbreak is slowing down. Cases have been reported in 46 states, and nine deaths have been connected to the outbreak.

The Food and Drug Administration lists the number of recalled products at 3,488. The outbreak has been linked to the PCA Plants in Blakely, Georgia and Plainview. As a result, the company filed for bankruptcy, and is under a federal criminal investigation.
