The petition to force an election that could lead to the ouster of District 4 Lubbock City Councilman Frank Morrison is gaining momentum. Edward Estrada, organizer of the petition, says they are close to making their goal. 1,700 signatures are needed to prompt a recall election. And 10% of those signatures must be certified as voters who originally voted to elect Morrison.
Signatures will be collected up until the deadline - November 27th. If you would like to add your name to the list, stop by JAS Management at 3305 66th St., between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Or on the weekend, the petition will be available at the Godeke Library: Saturdays: 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Sundays: 1:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
