Lubbock man brought to hospital after beating

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - A Lubbock man ended up in the hospital after an early morning beating. Lubbock Police say it began as a dispute at the La Cumbia nightclub, between a man and his ex-wife. Police say the woman and another male suspect followed the ex-husband and his girlfriend back to his apartment. Witnesses say, that's when the suspect began to assault the girlfriend. Police believe the ex-husband then grabbed some sort of tool to defend her, but the suspect took it away and began beating him with it.

Witnesses were startled by the fight. "I just heard three loud sounds like he got hit or something, and then after that the dude in the red shirt picked up the girl. They got in the car and left, and then you just heard him snoring. He was out," said neighbor Zach Fay.

EMS took the victim to University Medical Center with a serious head injury. So far there is no word on the man's condition, or the identities of everyone involved.
