Follow up on the hit and run in north Lubbock

LUBBOCK, TX, (KCBD) - Police say a Lubbock man fled the scene of an accident turned deadly. And now he faces manslaughter and aggravated assault charges. Mario Adolfo Ortiz, 25, was booked into the Lubbock County Jail Saturday night. They say he fled the scene of an accident at Quaker and the North Loop around 6:40 p.m. Friday. Police arrested Ortiz shortly after the accident. 

Family members of the victims they tell NewsChannel 11, Paul Dewey died Saturday at University Medical Center. His wife, Donna Dewey is at UMC in good condition. Their infant son, Landon was relatively unharmed. Barbara Fuller remains hospitalized in critical condition.

Both families have set up memorial funds in the Fuller and Dewey names. You can donate at any Wells Fargo Bank.
