Airport parking fee changes bring good and bad news for Lubbock travelers

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Lubbock Council members have approved an increase in parking fees at the Lubbock Preston Smith International Airport.

The good news, however, comes when you go to pick someone up. Short and long term parking is now free up to thirty minutes. Charges previously began after fifteen minutes. This move is to encourage drivers to park during pickup, instead of blocking lanes of traffic.

This is the first rate adjustment since 2001.
