WOLFFORTH, TX. (KCBD) - Frenship is the second largest school district in the Lubbock area. And yet only two people showed up to a public hearing on the search for a new superintendent. John Thomas is retiring. We asked Frenship job search consultant Bob Griggs how many people have applied for that job.
"We have about a dozen. We've been advertising the job for about six weeks. A brochure advertising the job will be going out within the next few weeks and that will bring in even more applicants," says Griggs.
Despite the lack of turnout, Griggs says the Frenship job is very attractive and people are very proud of the Frenship District. Lubbock ISD is also searching for a new superintendent to replace the retiring Wayne Havens. Board members met with their consultant Tuesday and we've left messages with Lubbock ISD officials. We'll get you an update as soon as we can.
