Congressman proposes making ATV's exempt from lead laws


LUBBOCK, TX. (KCBD) - New developments to a story NewsChannel 11 first brought you in January. We told you then about new federal regulations pertaining to lead that could impact any product for kids 12 and under. That includes ATV's.

Tuesday, Texas congressman Michael Burgess introduced a proposal to exempt ATV's from the list of children's products. He says even sales of the big ATV's are affected because the definition of children's products was defined too broadly. This is still in the proposal stage and it's a long way from passing.
