Search Continues for Kidnapping Suspects

The search continues for three men involved in the October 30th abduction of a 18 year-old Lubbock man, and Lubbock Police are hoping you can help.

It happened 10 days ago the 1900 block of east Colgate when police got reports of shots fired. Upon arrival police found spent shell casings in the area and witnesses told them 18 year-old James Lee Bates had been kidnapped at gunpoint. Bates was dropped off, un-harmed, in his neighborhood more than seven hours later.

Bates told NewsChannel 11 as he was leaving his friends house he was grabbed from behind and thrown to the ground. Then three men in ski masks were kicking him and forced him into their car.

Police identify the suspects as 30 year-old Robert L. Harris III, 22 year-old Verge Jones III, and 26 year-old Steven E. Gaither. All three are black. Police say these men are dangerous. If you have any information on these men or this crime, you are urged to call Crime Line at 741-1000.
