LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - A report out Wednesday from the Alzheimer's Study Group says the government needs to do more in the fight against Alzheimer's.
Already, 5 million Americans have the disease. Meanwhile, in heartfelt testimony to the Senate Special Aging Committee, California's First Lady, Maria Shriver, shared personal stories about her father, who she says was vibrant and intelligent, but now, "His mind was a beautifully tuned instrument that left people in awe. That was then; today he doesn't even know my name".
The report says that if no cure is found, Alzheimer's cases will grow by more than 50% in the next 20 years.
